this song is not about magical dreams or a childs imagination. it is simply about a guy who pops some thizz and starts to trip in his room. there are some firefly pills that have a hallucinagetic effects. 'Awake when I'm asleep'? that means he is there, but not all there. so he is fucked up on something. "To ten million fireflies I'm weird 'cause I hate goodbyes I got misty eyes as they said farewell But I'll know where several are If my dreams get real bizarre 'Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar" This simply states that he is coming down and he doesnt want to, but its all good, cos he has a few more in a jar. and remember. these lyrics had to make sense in someones head before they wrote them. they dont just throw random words together. so when someone says some shit like: 'Cause I'd get a thousand hugs From ten thousand lightning bugs As they tried to teach me how to dance' they cannot be straight minded for that to make sense to them. |
