| I always thought it was Ferdinand and Marianne wrecking havoc/having fun on the run in Pierrot le Fou... I still see it that way, several descriptions in the song parallel the plot from that film, but I'm glad someone always thought of these lyrics in the song rather than all the baseball talk haha! | |

No, due to the lyrics in the full stanza I've always reckoned he was referring to Ferdinand from Pierrot le Fou, on the run with his girl. Then again in another stanza he mentions 1960's style, cafes, a 'trail for the devil to erase', yadda yadda... It's a French New Wave film from '65, slightly, slightly overrated (it's a bit slow at first I feel) but still a classic, you should check it out! Might not be your cup of tea but the colours are great! :-) |
