Bright Eyes – A Perfect Sonnet Lyrics | 12 years ago |
fuck you this isnt a sonnet :( |
fun. – Some Nights (Intro) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
i can relate so well to this whole song... it's about all the things that keep you up at night. "some nights i hold on to every note i ever wrote" - some nights he knows exactly what he believes in "some nights i say fuck it all..." - those nights where his brain won't stop going over all the terrible things in the world, worrying about catastrophes that could happen and who he's turning into "i live in horror of people on the radio, tea parties and twitter" - i interpreted this line to be about conservative/right wing/republican politics, which i'm certainly pretty bitter about awesome start to an awesome album. |
My Chemical Romance – Bulletproof Heart Lyrics | 13 years ago |
With the songs on Danger Days you've kind of got to split the meanings in two - one side for the Killjoys storyline and the other for life. The Killjoys part of Bulletproof Heart is easy enough to spot (they're on the run from BLI), but what I also reckon this song's about trying to get out of your hometown. If you're born and raised in one place, sometimes you wonder 'will I ever leave?' and I know our boys have a fuckton of Jersey pride... but face it, everyone wants to get away at some point in their life. |
Aiden – Portrait Lyrics | 13 years ago |
to me, this seems like it could be about three things - first, like mechatanner said, date rape; secondly, although this is obvious (this is aiden we're talking about, after all), vampires; and lastly, depression, and the nightmares, insomnia, and escapism that comes with it. |
My Chemical Romance – House Of Wolves Lyrics | 14 years ago |
am I the only person who finds this song ridiculously sexy? it has some mad d/s undertones, even if it is about religion at first listen. heh. or maybe i'm just screwed up. .__. |
Fall Out Boy – Fame < Infamy Lyrics | 14 years ago |
this song is just so, so pete wentz. it's kind of ridiculous. "the kid was alright but it went to his head" is totally the messageboard haters, kids who were fans when fob first came out but dropped them whent they got famous... because they thought it went to his head. love this song. |
The Young Veins – Change Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I love this song. It's real and catchy but at the same time it's just a massive fuck you. So yeah. I just love it. |
Leathermouth – Catch Me If You Can Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song's about Jack the Ripper. When I read interviews where Frank says something about how theraputic it is to sing about cutting girls to bits, I think of this song. xD |
The Matches – What Katie Said Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I love how self deprecating this song is. It's almost like he's trying to steel himself for (what he sees as) the inevitable: Katie breaking up with him. |
The Matches – Salty Eyes Lyrics | 14 years ago |
If I could just curl up in a song and live there for the rest of my life this one would be it. Especially the lines - Please don't give up, dear walls Don't let the ceiling fall Those lines just feel like they're reminding you to keep strong. Because as long as you're strong, no matter what's going on, there's a little part of you that's okay. When you belong to a song, salty eyes You belong Because sometimes there's not really anywhere else you belong. |
The Used – On The Cross Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Oh god, I love this song. This reflects my views on religion perfectly. So pray then, if it makes you feel safe / But all I can say, is we go our own way It's like Bert's saying, "go ahead and believe, but I don't any more. It's fine for you to believe what you believe in, but don't shove it all on me and try to make me believe it too." He's not being a hypocrite and trying to force believers into being Atheists. He doesn't think he's better than religion, it's just not for him. (MY LOVE FOR THIS SONG CAN NOT BE CONDENSED INTO A SINGLE COMMENT!) |
Cobra Starship – It's Warmer in the Basement Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It's actually about Nate, Cobra's drummer. Gabe kept him in the basement for like two years. |
The Academy Is... – After the Last Midtown Show Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It's totally a love song for Gabe Saporta. Totally. |
Stay – Maddie kthx Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Oh I love this song. :D As for what it's about - I'm taking it like a casual relationship gone wrong, where the dude finds himself falling for the girl (who's maybe his ex?) but she still treats it as a friends-with-benefits kind of thing. |
All Time Low – Therapy Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I'm thinking that this song seems like getting famous. My ship went down / In a sea of sound / When I woke up alone / I had everything All of a sudden, he woke up famous, and it's everything he's ever wanted. Girls love him, guys want to be him - that kind of thing. A handful of moments / I wished I could change / And a tongue like a nightmare / That cut like a blade This makes me think that the getting famous part was hard on him - he lost friends and alienated people with his struggle to the top. The 'tongue like a nightmare that cut like a blade' could be a reference to his lyrics. In a city of fools / I was careful and cool / But they tore me apart / Like a hurricane This references the music business, critics and fans - it's gotten too much. The chorus: Give me therapy / I'm a walking travesty / But I'm smiling at everything Sounds more straight-up, like he's actually talking about therapy. But lots of musicians say that being in a band is like therapy - maybe it's a double meaning? And 'smiling at everything' could reference ATL's vow to never take themselves seriously. My lungs gave out / As I face the crowd / I think that keeping this up / Could be dangerous Fame isn't always the best thing. He's worried that it could destroy him. Arrogant boy / Love yourself so no one has to / They're better off without you / Arrogant boy / Cause a scene like you're supposed to / They'll fall asleep without you / You're lucky if your memory remains Everyone's ripping him apart because he seems so up himself and arrogant, but the reason he's arrogant is because of the tabloids and critics and haters, he needs to love himself because no one else does. |
