I would say that the songs is more the hunger for somethign (possibly drugs) when you arfe trying to quit. You have trouble sleeping and you lock yourself away and in the back of your head you have thoughts like the second verse, just one more sin and stuff like that. The entire time you feel the addiction closin g in around you tighter and tighter. |

I think the song is about leaving the seasonal depression of the the north, for the stagnant depression of the south. It's a grass is always greener on the other side mentality that alot of people have. All the interesting people leave the place the grew up in. Interesting people want change and a change of environment from the places you grew up to the places where you end up, The problem is losing what makes you, you in the proceses of moving around. |

What im getting is that he's struggling with his own mortality. We are just temporary being and if that's the case and we have know idea if anything we do is leading to anything, then why try. He just feels beaten down by the realities of life and chases it down with drugs and religion and all those things that we as people do to distract ourselves from the harsh reality.
It's like everyday there are people wasting their lives doing mundane tasks just to get by and even though we all know deep down how we might get to a place where the love is free we just see obstackles and decide instead to pitter around with any distraction we can. |

| Blackalicious – Automatique Lyrics

It's automatic sporadic movements on the brike*
The moment's magic the last thing that I should do is think
a burst of energy that hints that really it's no time
At birth you start to think that after death back to no mind
A rest that makes you new again now you embrace the planet
And stand in awe* of all the thing you daily took for granted
The trees are posin' all unique inform natures perfection
The most important time is now tomorrow's a projection
A co-creator if you only just believe in that
Right here today inside is where I find my freedom at
as* simple as a lyric from my soul to yours as felt
I didn't write this I just let the pen move by itself
It's ART-o-matic
The corrections have * by them
The song to me is about the beauty of the universe we live. It's about free your soul/mind from the constraints of our flawed view of the world we live in. It brings up the nature of art as a part of nature that we can just tap into, it is there we just have to translate it into a form we can experience, or feel it on level that we can't sense with the 5 senses. |

This song is just dripping with mommy issues, drug addiction and girl problems. Its all three wraped fucked up metaphors. The lyrics alone don't do it justice it has a whole mood to go with it that is just frightening. |

What if he is using the environment as a metaphor for the way the music industry is going. Everything for the bottom dollar, pushing out fake shit, forcing creative people to make recycled plastic pop. It's like a transmission from inside the beast, where the beast is the industry. |

I think this song is essentially about the dude comparing himself with the douchbag who stole his girlfriend. the deeper look at it shows that the guy has a huge inferiority complex he consideres himself nice but really he's just timid. He feels like he doesn't really have that much to offer but takes solace in that he doesn't have false confidence like the Guido who she's seeing now. |

Since Rise against are avid activists I would think that the song is about the state of the world and how we shut ourselves off from it. We hand the reigns off to someone else and say wake me when its through. Maybe the under the knife lyrics are about a lobotomy which can be seen as what takes place between those in power and those without power. Then when we see this false world we feel the falseness and want to be re-awoken but it still isn't going to happen because we put ourselves to sleep. |

This is a love song about a girl, I assume, who feels like she can't be tied down and essentially she wants to be free. What he is trying to say is that it is love that makes you free, and if she only said one word he be back for her because he truly believes. |

I think this song is about a particular type of music that brandon just doesn't like. It is popular and he hears it everywhere but it is just frustrating to him to have to hear it. He says that the fans are eventually turn on the person and thier scene by throwing quarters at them on stage. |

Honestly I think it is about some kind of robot type thing that becomes superior to humans and becomes some kind of religious figure. Then it start to take the people as a toys as it is now kind of a god. When he says please dismantle these these phantom limbs he is the pleading voice of disenters. The machine considers humans dangerous and treacherous in the line "everyone stabs all the time". The people are talking abouts the robots when they says they lack human pulses. |

This songs seems to be about a dead relationship where one person is scrared to leave just because of the change and the other blows up not because they're angry but because they can't stand where they are in life. The one tries to tell the other that it is all fine but the other wont listen and keeps releiving their rage on the other. |

I think this song is about Cornell losing people in his life through drugs and alchohol and how he regrets what he does when he loses his head. |
