Personally, what I've drawn from this song is just someone who feels lost in our world. They're sick of everything occurring around them because it's so chaotic. Obviously they're torn, heartbroken and have no where/no one to reach out to. And because of this, they're reaching out to someone they love - someone who they hope will notice them in this pit of misery. And help them out of him. Helping them out of the dark, to see light again. |

Not that I existed then, but it really brings me back to the times where there were drive-ins to theaters, and where asking for someone's number was a really big deal. I simply love this song. |

Like many people who have persisted here, I too believe that no matter what the song is trying to say, we all know that it is about love and it is one of the most lovely songs to listen to when you're in love.
