| i could be wrong, but it sounds like she was with someone who was a christian and was too aggressive about it, trying to convert her or save her, and that she's pointing out that he's not perfect and he's a hypocrite | |
| Jeff Buckley – Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover) Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I really hope someone reads this, because no one else has said it, but I believe this song is about the fact that we don't have to have it all together to be in relationship with God. It first talks about David composing a song for God, although God doesn't need some exquisite song of praise. All he needs is a hallelujah. Next, it talks about David's sin and where it has brought him. Through all of these trials, he can sing hallelujah. I believe this part: "And love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah" is saying that love for God isn't doing good things and being better than everyone around us. It's not about being strong. It's about humbling ourselves and honest and broken and crying out to God for help. "Well there was a time when you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show that to me, do you? But remember when I moved in you And the holy dove was moving too And every breath we drew was Hallelujah" I feel this is from God's point of view. He's remembering a time when He and David were in close relationship, instead of speaking of David's flaws, showing that God wants a relationship with us and will disregard our downfalls if we strive for a relationship with Him. "Maybe there is a god above But all I've ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you" I feel like this is speaking of how people in the world share the message of God the wrong way. "And it's not a cry that you hear at night It's not somebody who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah" And, finally, this says that we don't have to have some gigantic revolution or epiphany to be in a relationship with God. All we need to do is call out to him, no matter how broken and sinful and unworthy we feel, and He will come to us. |

I feel like it's just about a long distance relationship. Maybe they're drifting away because every day they have less and less to talk about because they're so far apart. Drifting as a couple is something you can't really change from far away. Maybe they just couldn't take it anymore and there was no other way but to end things. ..Although couldn't tell you what the end of the song means. |

| David Crowder Band – The Lark Ascending (I'm Trying to Make you Sing) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song is absolutely amazing. How has no one commented on this? I would definitely like some insight. I guess to me, it's saying that Heaven isn't the only place to be holy. We can be holy here on earth, and the Heavens and the earth are one. That life is so, so beautiful and it was made to be embraced. Actually, I can't even really describe what I get from this song. I guess it's just saying that we wait for Heaven but what's that gonna do? We wait for holiness, an opportunity to feel God. But then we realize, that opportunity has been here all along. We can take it. | |
| Blue October – Inner Glow Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
"We only want a beat we can drum to".. It's saying that we go through life looking for our situation to always work out for us, we just want life to give us things that will make us happy when we should go "write our own song" and just do what we want. We're never gonna find the perfect beat and we're never gonna find what we're looking for. So we might as well just embrace our INNER glow instead of depending on our outside situations and basing our feelings on whatever's going on on the outside. And if we try to embrace that inner glow and we fail, that's alright. It's not like we were going to get what we were going for, anyways. We're "making love to the rhythm" instead of "writing our own song," basically. |

| Blue Foundation – Eyes on Fire Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I see this song as a way of showing that you're over someone and they have no power over you anymore. Although it connects with Twilight, it wasn't written for Twilight and it has nothing to do with Twilight. I see it as a strong and powerful message of realizing your confidence and breaking free from someone who you've held on to for so long. Although, I would like to hear someone's insight on the fire. Eyes on fire, feeding your flame, spine is ablaze.. any ideas? | |

I think it's about someone who claims they have all these disorders and permanent addictions, but he believes they make it way more overdramatic than it has to be. "You're a symptom superficial do what they call normal now" :the symptoms they describe are now considered normal because of all the people who "suffer" from them "Minus the speed Could you imagine the phobia?" without the drugs they don't even notice that they have any disorders "A plate of quite peculiar on a dish of my own" he somewhat understands what her mind is doing because it's just normal human thoughts but at the same time he doesn't |

| i think "uncle" is referring to crying "uncle" in a game, "uncle, you spared not your children"- the children are calling uncle and asking the rapist or whatever it may be to spare them but he didn't | |

I think of a mental institution when I hear this song. I think that although she writes a lot about random things, which I love, she's usually writing about something that's actually on her mind, its just usually not things that are like digging at her soul or anything. And I could be wrong and this may be stupid, but it could have to do with her homeland. |

| The Killers – Andy, You're a Star Lyrics | 16 years ago |

"Andy" could possibly be the person who has the crush, and Flowers might be saying that although he gets made fun of, he sees Andy as a star. Although, I don't see why someone whose straight would write a song that makes it look like they're gay.. You know what I mean? There's no way he could have written this without knowing he's making himself sound gay/bi/whatever and people write to express themself.. I'm definately with the having a crush on a jock thing. |
