I love this song. For some reason, my and definately my fiance find it sexy. Also it may be tmi, but if I were ever to become a stripper, I'd definately strip to it xD |

In my mind, I think it's about the Holocaust. Like a survivor telling his son of it. take for example. "We are the angry and the desperate," "The hungry, and the cold," "We are the ones who kept quiet," "And always did what we were told." Basic description of those in concentration camps. Then: So open your eyes child, Lets be on our way. Broken windows and ashes Are guiding the way. Broken Glass = Kristallnacht, Ashes = Human ashes And as for the parts like the chorus, I think it's the fathers interpitation of anger towards the Nazi's, maybe the people who pretended that claimed that they didn't know and tried to show him pity. Thats my opinion. |

Well when I listen to this song, it reminds me of my dead friend Tony. I know it talks about a girl, but it reminds me of random things we did do. Like the lyric, "Smiling sweetly said she made you smoke your cigs all outside" reminds me of the fact that we couldn't smoke in his house so we had to go outside, even though alotta the time, we sat at his windowsill xD. Also "And we would take those walks at night And we would dance there in the kitchen till we couldn't catch our breath" also actually happened with us. He would always want me to go on a walk with him when I had a problem. And one time we really DID randomly dance in his kitchen. I know it's not really an actual interpitation, but it's what this song reminds me of... |
