Moby – Extreme Ways Lyrics 14 years ago
Seems like he's looking at his life after a long stretch of self-centered depression where he became reclusive and pushed everyone away. Fitting with the theme it sounds like depression caused by a breakup, and having seen how he's been acting and where it's gotten him, he decides it's time to change.

Without getting into every line, he explains his attitude and state of mind, sings about how he indulged in bad habits that kept him unhappy, mentions that it will likely happen again and he's ready for it, or wants to be. The second verse mentions feeling isolated and never talking to anyone about what he felt and how he got to into his unhealthy state of mind.

The song has an overarching theme of being able to see it all though. Like he's ready for the change.
That's what I see it as anyway.

CeeLo Green – Fuck You Lyrics 14 years ago
This song is awesome. The way he says FUCK YOU is perfect! I laugh every time I hear it. If you have to get over someone, good god, this is the way to do it!

Eels – Funeral Parlor Lyrics 14 years ago
Love this song. It's got a somber yet goofy sound to it which actually fits really well with a humorous take on such a sad situation. It seems like he's doing anything just to avoid having to be at this funereal. Funny, but not ha ha funny.

Eels – Bus Stop Boxer Lyrics 14 years ago
Seems like it's about someone who feels rejected. Someone with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. Lines like "Don't look at me, I'm the bus stop boxer" imply one who doesn't want to be judged, while others seem openly like a closeted ego that wants out. Bus stop boxing could imply showing people something in an open, public space.
That's what it seems like to me.

Counting Crows – A Murder Of One Lyrics 15 years ago
The song is about life not turning out the way you want it to.

That said, when I hear it, I hear a song about someone who cares deeply about someone else who is already in a relationship, and is likely happy enough there.
But he knows that he could make her so much happier, even if she refuses to try.
He wants to show her that maybe he screwed up in the past, but understands what he lost, and knows he can do it again, and do it right.
He see's the beauty in her, and wants to show her, even if she doesn't want to see it.

The chorus makes it sound like he's upset with her for wastign her life with this new love, but that's also what makes it so pure. He genuinly feels he's right.

"Does he tell you when you're sorry, does he tell you when you're wrong."
I see that line as implying honesty. Maybe what was once an in joke telling her she's sorry means he understand he screwed up, telling her she's wrong means he wants her to know he understand, but disagrees.

Some of the other lines are straight forward in this regard, others seem more abstract, like they're there stricktly to show he sees the beauty in her as a person, like the part about counting crows. It's poetic and beutiful, like her.

That first line that implies being willing to cheat, in this sense, has nothign to do with that. He wants to show he cares. "That's why they can talk a while and take it slow."
To show her that she cares, without her having to sacrifice anything.

Eels – Last Stop: This Town Lyrics 16 years ago
It sound like that point in time where, after having been depressed for quite a while you start to feel better (Efils good, Going to your funeral Part 2), then there's a time of being really upbeat (Last stop this town), even if things are still in the dumps, since you can't be depressed forever.
Usually it's followed by a mildy upbeat/reflective mood (The rest of the album).
