| I've heard that this song is about Matthew Shepard. He was a student who was bullied, tortured, and murdered because he was gay. I can't listen to this song without thinking about that now, and it's kind of a horrible feeling. | |

in my opinion, i think this song is about being in a band and touring and playing shows. Hit the pavement and drive for the first time in a long time And pray that everything works out fine She said try to have a good time And get your fill of cheap thrills And try anything to save a dime So lets get moving, and lets get grooving To every single word we've grown to know Until we get car sick, play our hands quick And try to save ourselves along the way -this part is self explanatory, being on the road, hanging out You're a gamble; you've got nothing left to lose You think you got me in the back of your pocket, you do So take a breath and try to keep it down Cause I love these girls but I hate this town But I'm positive that there's nothing about you to get to know -saying the music industry is a gamble, and it "has him in the back of its pocket" because he truly loves music and will do anything to live out the dream. i dunno what the girls part is about. maybe groupies lol. Hit the lights and get down for the last time in a long time And try to think of every last line She said try to have a good time Don't put up with the hard hits They'll just hit you harder every time That you get moving; you'll just keep losing What little bit of mind that you have left So try and please me, but take it easy And try to keep your thoughts above the belt - first few lines could possibly be about playing the last show before taking a break. and then the next few lines are about not giving a shit about what the critics have to say. yep, that's my take on it. |

| the bass drum during the "load up your six shot baby" breakdown is fucking wicked. - or at least on the album version, i don't really listen to the demo version much. | |

| i'm not gonna lie, this song reminds me of final destination, the one where that chick locks herself in the room cuz she's afraid of everything killing her. i know it's really out there, but that's what this song makes me think of. | |

more specifically, i feel like it's about coming to terms with the fact that the person doesn't want to be close to them, and kinda letting go. "the weather's always changing and i swear that i don't mind" - sounds like he's using weather as a metaphor for environment (people, feelings, places, etc.) and also "all's well, wish you the best" - saying that he's just fine with how things are. |
