This song is about a couple with little money, but not about them "livinon a prayer that they'll make it through the hard times'. The song is about Tommy trying to make it big with his "six-string", which as anyone with even very little knowledge about the music industry is the slang term for a guitar. And thorughout the course of the song, Gina tells Tommy "we gotta hold onto whatwe've got cause it doesnt make a difference if we make it or not for love we'll give it a shot" which says to me that whether he makes it or not they've got each other and love is really all that you need to be happy. As the beatles said "I don't care so much for money cause money can't buy me love". |

to me this song relates to the depression and wish to die that comes after the end of an amazing relationship. now whether the relationship was ended by our charscter or the significant other, i cant say, but from experience i know of this feeling. of course after a while i got up dusted myself off and realized my relationship wasnt so great. |
