| Jeff Buckley – Lover, You Should've Come Over Lyrics | 15 years ago |

"It's never over, my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder It's never over, all my riches for her smiles when i slept so soft against her It's never over, all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter It's never over, she's the tear that hangs inside my soul forever" The lyricism, vocals, poignancy...best part of any song ever, and makes me cry everytime I hear it, especially at the point I'm currently at in my life. |

| I think one of the ways this song can be interpreted is that it's being sung from the perspective of someone who fell in love with another person who happened to be in a relationship, and although they regret everything that happened, they simply couldn't help themselves at the time. And now they're telling that person...yes, personal experience. =( | |

| Of course nobody is perfect; she clearly means that the person is perfect for her. Beautiful song. | |

| I agree there are many different interpretations - it's such a beautifully honest song that many people can kind find a lot of things to relate to within the lyrics. I hadn't heard it for such a long time until today when it came on the radio, and it resonated so much as it's a place where I'm at in my life right now. I've met someone who seems so perfect for me and I've never felt this way about anyone before, and they've acknowledged that we could be so good together, but they're already in a (rocky) relationship, so nothing can happen. But now we've stopped talking because they said they've started falling for me too much, and it isn't fair on their partner. So many of the lyrics perfectly describe my feelings, and the "If I'm not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am?" line gets me every time. =( | |
