Devendra Banhart – Insect Eyes Lyrics 16 years ago
I thought as well that this song could perhaps be about the journey of a mother and child." And the neck her head's on is a tunnel of dawn".Talking about the wisdom a mother gives to her child. It could be talking about how a child grows up to think how beautiful their mother is, and how they "fall in love" in a sense of being cared for.And that seed, it grows all day
And that seed, it grows all night
And our veins are intertwined. They are one.

The National – You've Done It Again, Virginia Lyrics 16 years ago
my interpretation of this song is that he finally realizes that they have changed and gone seperate ways in a sense of still being together. But he realizes how far apart they have grown and he cant ask why because he doesnt know how to approach her due to him being "far away". As she is leaving he cannot do anything because he doesnt know her. He sees himself getting farther and farther away and so close to losing her. Its an awkward motion because he is so struck that he cant say anything because they are entirely different.

Fleet Foxes – Icicle Tusk Lyrics 16 years ago
It is my interpretation that this song is telling of a great love he has for a girl. She manipulates him to do something he doesnt want to.
"In my haste I draw my weapon
Designing your final lesson
As you recede to the floor
All is silent but the fluttering door" .....all is silent but the fluttering door. He does the deed and is trying to run away from it. "And though my memory rusts
I will always see the icicle tusk" no matter how long he tries to forget "the icicle tusk" always comes up in his mind. "Beneath the icicle tusk
You and me among the flattering dusk" The icicle tusk determines their future together. Whether or not he decides to commit this "murder" parsay, decides whether or not they will continue together.
