I think it's more like she knows that the guy is wrong for her and that he really doesn't care for her (for example, when she ran to his side, he ignored her,) but despite this she continues to run back to him expecting him to change. He maybe is only using her for a physical relationship and she feels that she can't speak when she's around him, but he doesn't care ("I cut off my tongue--you started to kiss me. Blood trickled down" like he doesn't mind or possibly even notice that she's in pain.) |
