What I think is going on is the song is telling a story. "It's been years Since you've crossed my mind And I'm ashamed of what I've Learned from all this time. You were more than good to me, And I was far less than The man I've come to be. I see you and think of all that I'd change If I could go back Go back and say:" What I think is going on here is he and a girl broke up and went their separate ways. And in the time apart he realized how good she was to him and how he could have been better to her. Years go by and they bump into each other by chance. When he sees her he starts to think about if he could go back in time what he would say to her. "I don't wanna be Your sweet talking man No, I don't wanna be The place that you land. I don't wanna be Your sweet talking man No, I don't wanna be The place that, the place that you land." Here he's saying he doesn't just want to be a man who tells her sweet things he wants to show her those sweet things and be more than just a sweet talker. He doesn't want to be the place that she lands because he never wanted to see her fall in the first place. "It's nice to know You're doing fine; And I thank God You didn't let me ruin your life. We forgot and we forgave All mistakes and stupid Choices that we made. I see you, I think of all that I'd change If I could go back Go back and say:" What I think is going on here is they are catching up after not seeing one another for all these years and she has told him how wonderful she is doing. He is saying he's happy for her and how well she's doing. He is thanking god that she didn't let him ruin her life because had she not broken up with him and had they stayed together he never would have lost her therefore he never would have realized the wrong he had done and she wouldn't have done better for herself the ways he had. So now she is forgiving him for not treating her better. |

| Actually if you search the Internet you can find an official video that the guys from NeedToBreathe made themselves for this song. When I watched the video it seemed to me like they were basically saying be comfortable in your own skin and to not be afraid to let your light shine because it rubs off on those around you. | |

| I know, I saw these guys for the first time on July 7th at the House Of Blues in New Orleans when they opened a show for David Cook (American Idol Season 7 winner) and they blew my friends and I away. They have returned to New Orleans two times since then and my friends I have gone each time and will continue to go when ever they are in town. We also got to meet Bear and his brother Bo at all three of the shows and I have to agree that they are so real and just genuinely nice guys. | |
