This song is definately not about the Vikings. The line "by that bridge near the border" seems to refer to the border between North Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Any idea of any battles that may have taken place at a bridge on the border between North and South Ireland? |

Aside from "Echoes" and "In The Flesh?" this is my favorite Pink Floyd song. First time I heard this I wasn't sure if I was listening to a Pink Floyd song because of the dark vibe to it, and once the vocals kicked in I jumped up in my chair a bit, completely unexpected. Outstanding song. |

I think you hit it right on the ball, frye. And why doesn't this song have more comments? This is a Metal Masterpiece. Always preferred the Motorhead version to the Metallica one. |
