Sufjan Stevens – I Walked Lyrics 15 years ago
If you've ever gone through a break up where you're on the wrong end, this song hits home. That first verse kills.

Grizzly Bear – Two Weeks Lyrics 16 years ago
If you check out their performance on Letterman Ed definitely sings "Quarter half the mile" and not "Quarter half a mile" - though I can see (hear?) how the album version can be misconstrued. Continuing with Farbulous' interpretation, to me this line defines relationship struggles - and personally was as close to being a revelation about the underlying dilemmas affecting my own relationship with a special lady friend as can be. Like art, lyrics are what you make of them - what you feel and how you counteract to what you feel.

The title of the track is still a mystery though as to how it relates to the lyrics. I highly doubt Ed intended for the title to infer to the "two week ignore" mind-fuck fuck-buddy theory. I like to think that it has to do with the anguishing period after a break up; the two weeks that follow what this song conveys - the aftermath difficulty of a breakup dialogue as portrayed by this conversation (be it from Ed's one-sided perspective - ala the chorus of contrite and truncated sentences). Those two weeks of hell before the pain remotely subdues. We've all been there…you know…those two weeks of the routine malaise. Whatta think?
