Why? – Danny Lyrics 13 years ago
I've only ever loved one woman in my life and her name was Danny. It's very strange how My favorite band comes out with this song just as I'm self destructing at the bars, house parties and sometimes just alone. I guess like jonathan says "I'll be fine in time."

Dear and the Headlights – Run in the Front Lyrics 16 years ago
I've read all of the interpretations.

They all make sense, Some more than others.

I heard this song going on three years ago and loved it from the get go.

I was an active drug user, I knew their was something special about it, I just couldn't hit it.

I ended up going to rehab for 6 months, Once I got out I listened to it, and then that's when it hit me.

The song, In my interpretation, Is about a drug addict desperately trying to stay clean coming out of a relationship.

"Run in the front like you said
I’m sad I’ll miss it send it back in the photographs
And I could use a vacation myself
My eyes are bored
Stuck in the lot for days
Manager said I can’t make “just one more mistake”
So I’ll just hang my head and say sorry
Wouldn’t be the first time" - I see it as, he's making all these mistakes, and in 12 step groups they use the term "Just one more time" As in addicts when times get rough, they look for the excuse to use drugs "just one more time." Where he says, "Just one more mistake" could imply his job and his life.

"And you I’m missing you I don’t want to
But I will
See the gray in your hair, Angel
Your beauty can’t be covered by insecurity
I hope the same truth would still hold true for me
‘Cause I drowned in mine" - The first part about missing something could be both the drugs and the realtionship even though he doesn't want to, he will. Hoping the same truth holds true as in he can stay clean no matter what, He's drowning in his truth.

"Calling John on the phone
I’m panicking after three rings I don’t think that he’s home
He makes my head much lighter you know
With just some words he says
“C’mon now now it’s not so bad
I’m sorry that you feel that way no you’re not useless
You don’t even have to think about it
Things will work out just fine” - In 12 groups I.E. Alcoholics anonymous or Narcotics anonymous, You get a sponsor and call him and build a relationship, You call him when you're struggling on using, hard times, Bad relationship problems, Anything really that you're struggling with because he's been through all the feelings you get already, He's their for support and love and to talk you through your rough time and encourage you that you're worth more than your feelings and that all feelings pass. "You don't even have to think about it" I see it as, You don't even have to entertain the thought of using drugs.

"Hours to waste turns into full weeks, then months, then into me
A life long disease
The gray in your hair still means hope for me
That beauty won’t be hidden easily
That truth could still hold true for me" - When a person is an addict, it's a life long disease, once in recovery, it's a life long process, In the 12 step programs they tell you "Just for today." As in just for today you never have to use again, just for today you focus on your problem and fix it and just for today you have to stay in today. I think this last line is talking about accumulating clean time and getting through the relationship, and he'll always love what he's missing, and although the time is hard and getting through it will be even harder "That truth could still hold true for me" Means to me that No matter what You never have to give into the disease of addiction and you can get through anything clean.

Take it for what it's worth, and if that's the wrong definition in your book, be that as it may, but for me in my book, This song gives me hope. Hope that I never have to self destruct again. So I take it for what I take it as.

This is a milestone for me.
