| I agree; ths is meant to be their theme song. But also a song about relationships or a theory of why Unicorns can't be found. | |

This doesn't really go with what I'm about to say, but I was just thinking, "asshole of my eye" could refer to a person. It's the person who is, well, and asshole who is in some way related to the singer. The singer sounds like a know-it-all, doesn't he? Like, filling people's heads with false information that he believes to be right. I hate just saying that a song relates to drugs and leave it at that, but maybe this know-it-all singer's thoughts have been caused by taking drugs or being exposed to a chemical. Everything in this song relating to something sweet and nice kind of makes me feel like the singer (I don't wanna check now if it's Alden or Nick, so you know) feels as though everything could be better, he's describing a world where everything is nicer, "fruitiful, beautiful", and where what he is describing (these false muscles, this substance) actually exists. If this song does contain the mention f drugs or chemicals, maybe he is explaining that the substance will take people there. I don't know. ALSO. Where thesinger trails off at the "makes me go.." part, don't you think that the word insane could be added on? Cos it rhymes with brain? Tis person trailing off before the sentence is finished might just show that the singer really is insane? |

| The Unicorns – Tuff Ghost Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
If anyone still thinks it IS about an actual ghost, it could be like, a guy still obsessing over a hated person's death. The ghost is harassing this person even after it died, and these are the exchanges between the two. As for the thought that it's a real person who is our "ghost", it could be like, Nik is telling the person, "You're dead to me." and the person taking this hard and taking on a darker outlook on life, Nick regretting it maybe. Maybe, adding on to Iwannabeahipster's comment, I disagree with the thought of a few lines justbeing witty about ghosts. It's saying that this person just refuses to take on challenges or anything fun in life. This person is not living his life like he should. Nick might be lecturing him, maybe he wants the "ghost" to go and have a better time. |

| The Unicorns – Child Star Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Alden is the Child Star. Nicky is the fan. Yep, this is about the media, how the Star and the fan are actually both the same, how the fan's obsession was pointless, and how childish the whole thing really was, how it just blew up the star's ego for no good reason, and how people shouldn't take fame and clebrities that serious. |

Nicky isn't married, Jamie is. Yes, I called J'aime Jamie. S'his name. This is, well, yeah, about being "wek in the knees" over someone. Nick is sure he cares about someone deeply, but he doesn't know what the feeling is, asks idk his BFF Alden, who tells this confused boy that he's in love. Maybe, if you've seen the video, Nicky then dies of shock. But then Alden convinces Nick to say stuff like, "This is love, so we'll survive," like Dude, it's not a big deal. Um, I don't know. |

| The Unicorns – Sea Ghost Lyrics | 16 years ago |

First of all, let me say that the whole guitar part after the recorder intro is delicious. I lovee it so much. I really really do like the idea of the ocean being the music biz. But if we go in the direction of this being about a relationship, I have a few ideas. I'm thinking this might be more of a story than a song that has a moral, you know, like the other Unicorns songs. Alden is singing about how he's pretty much "diving into" a relationship, putting everything on the line for this person who has turned out to be a "parasite". From the beginning, he's unsure about his partner, and it's a pretty damn rocky way the whole time, up until they "freeze", which is the period of just a totally hopeless relationship that's going nowhere. The ocean (relationship) isn't the place for them, so the host gets out and the parasite (which now could be seen as a freeloading partner, energy-draining) is off of him, and is now having a pretty shitty time without him, but the now free host doesn't care about its old partner. Um. If that makes sense. |

| The Unicorns – Les Os Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Oh man, I could listen to this song all day. And yep, this is Alden's song. "Tell me about your love affairs, Tell me about your moral resignations Tell me about your love affairs, I want to know all the lurid details" A boy is both fascinated with the girl, and is trying to act as if he doesn't really care if she loves him, or if she loves somebody else. "I want to die today, And make love with you, in my grave, I want to die today, And make love with you, in my grave, Aaaaaaaaalll aaallll alll day" This boy has either begun to let her know that he adores her, or is thinking this in his head. As someone has commented earlier, he doesn't care what happens to him, as long as he is with her. It also shows that he wants to be with her forever. "Is this love of ours a lie?" Asking the final question, probably to the girl again instead of in his head. Maybe because of her answers, or what he's telling himself in his head (that she loves him back?), he is either worrying now that she doesn't love him, or he's coming to terms with the fact she doesn't love him at all? I dunno. It could also be from the point of view of a stalker, who wished to immortalize the girl her loves her by killing her. Which makes it a little simpler. |

| Tokyo Police Club – The Harrowing Adventures of... Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I always thought this song was about two people who grew up together as friends, but as their games became more violent, and as they began to think more about their future (the "shadows cast in the night", unclear futures), they also started having different opinions, and split up. But they still cared about eachother? I don't know. | |

| I always thought that this song was about someone whose mother was a hooker. Just saying. Great song though. | |
| Clues – Elope Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The title? Elope-- It's usually used like, "two lovers running away to get married," but Alden is gay, and gay marriage is sometimes not allowed or tolerated. Mybe going a little far, but I think it's interesting. 'Got nothing for what the lyrics could mean, tho. |

| The Unicorns – Emasculate the Masculine Lyrics | 16 years ago |

When I first heard this song, I was very surprised to find a Unicorns song that I could relate to, although it turns out the meaning is quite different from what I had thought in the first place. Before, it sounded like something I would think. I'm sort of violent and hate many of the people I'm forced to be around, which is why the first two paragraphs seemed to make so much sense. The last part of the song made a lot of sense as well; the singer made it sound a bit like he was left out of the "reindeer games", the only one not to be leaving town for the weekend and just staying home (although not upset by this, he still seems a bit like he's looking down on the others). I know the meaning is different, but if you think about the lyrics literally, it seems to relate to any odd man out. |
