your heart is leaking and I want to save it, I can't unless you give into me. so they drop to their knees and finaly released it all "and your hands and knees, felt cold and wet on the grass to me", because in this scenario "god" or the allmighty superbeing above and around us feels the whole in every thing, or "the eye in the sky" has felt what you have done and finaly given in to open up your heart, even though it's full of pain, and blindspots n which we all wish to seek the answers to in this life time... even that supernatural being, "the boss". but perhaps in this story, a couple lost a child, and they held in the pain for so long and needed to release it, so now they are a two instead of a three. Their world began once something huge as this lifeshifting child entered it, and once it dies, their lives were over, because it meant every thing to them.. and then we all go back to being animals, floating and confused, swimming in a circle over and over again(listen to the instrumental part) around the earth, the same aspect as the universe, it keeps going on forever, but isnt that a pattern in itself? this is my ultimate favorite Modest Mouse song, I went to their concert for the first time and this was the first song so it makes it even better that my fav was their first in my first concert ever :D |

YOU ALL NEED TO GO WATCH A CONCERT. I didnt ever make it to one with all of the original artists, but it sure was one of the most amazing experiances of my life, and go alone. watch the lights. close your eyes and open them wide. pour water on your face. eat cantelope, and smile, because your in the midst of a very shifting experiance. and yes, i do belive this song is about the fakness of our society today and how we think that just by portreying the "greatness" of the things we have accomplished, doesnt mean we have to "teach a fruit how to eat itself", we have almost come too far in evolution and look what We've arrived at... sure, we think we can accomplish any thing, but what are we really accomplishing? superioority? that is the "wrong lane"..... |

hah! turtles? man, these are fun to read! :] i've been searching really deep songs, then I came to this one, wow, some bands just don't really sing about any thing at all, nothing. but then if you take a second look and really get deep into it, unlike the selfcentered idiots that think were getting "too deep", you can really understand as to why their singing so happily, so catchy, because they really mean what they sing, their not just sining to make cash. I mean, yes, alot of bands do that, but I'm certain that the Hoosiers are amazing. ;0 hah, snowboarding music ALL THE WAY! :D |

Maybe he's trying to tell himself to not look back at what he was before he met a certain someone. and this person seemed different than what they were so once he found out they were a decietful fox, he began to run and he doesnt want to look back on what that fox made him run to, or run into, or become. |

yeah, i watched the video too, it was so lame. the song meant alot more to me when i heard it, but once i watched the video it sort of ruined the feelings I got when I listened to it afterward. I still love the song though, because i myself am stuck between spiritual and scientific matters, I don't belive in A GOD, but I definatly belive in a spiritual matter in us all and the whole universe, a higher being that defines each and every one of us in one level or another, you know? and just as he says, then my life isnt real, well it isnt, we are all just a bunch of little pieces of recycled matter all bundled up into something that looks and remains as an object until it's our time to climb back into the ocean or receed back up into the trees from whence we came, and continue living on our lives in the way we were meant to. |

there is all too much in life to just let it pass us by so we have to take as much time that we can to appreciate every thing, even if it seems as tiny as a molecule, it's the largest thing in the world, it created us after all, and what are we doing every day? passing it by without a thought. "The planets spin and we watch space pass" "Walk a direction, see where we get" but we don't have to belive that anything created us at all, we have all always been here, were all just recycled beings not really understanding a gosh damn thing, but it doesnt matter because even going no where were always going somewhere, discovering that the best PARt of life, is every SECOND of it. we can't ever come to know every detail, or even begin to understand it with religion or science, believe in what ever you want, but do we really know anything, with all the proof and theory in this lifetime, we havnt gotten anywhere so sit back and take a breath of what your surrounded by. I never knew nothing so there's nothing to forget Get real drunk and ride our bikes "there's so much beauty it could make you cry" and if we even DID have a clue or start to begin to really understand the true facts of life that can never be revealed to us, you wouldnt know what to do with yourself, probably not even cry. |
