| Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band – Ant Man Bee Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Maybe "bee" is just a corruption of "be"? | |
| Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band – Veteran's Day Poppy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| A none-too-veiled condemnation of the drug-addled '60s? Seems that to me. | |
| Tom Waits – Filipino Box Spring Hog Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Did/does Waits take drugs (at one time or another)? Just a query. | |
| Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five – The Message Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| One of the greatest rap songs EVER, if not the greatest EVER (fans of Public Enemy, KRS-One, A Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys, Tupac, so sue me), essentially redefining funk for a new era. Also vibrant as social commentary on life on the ghetto - the hardship, the unfairness, the lows. As a description of ghetto life, probably unsurpassed. | |
| Miley Cyrus – Party in the U.S.A. Lyrics | 16 years ago |

... and Miley Cyrus brings herself to new lows (as if she hasn't already) by shilling this literally offkey "catchy" brainfart. It's incredible how this talentless shittle singer gets propelled by crap-for-brains songwriting and GODAWFUL melodies masquerading as bloody ear candy for the rabble to choke upon. |

More, more: A hand from the cloud emerges, holding a chart expanded. - reference to Acts 10:9-23. Pu Nuseht - the sun up. |

| Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Oh, Lord. Of all inanities Cobain takes credit for, this takes the cake. Seriously, godfather of punk - he being nine, ten years at the time of its inception - and ROCK? Oh Lawd, I heard this guy named Elvis Presley performing rock tunes from the '50s. |

| I know Ringo dislikes translations, but still... anyone gimme some idea to this? | |
| Wolfgang – Halik Ni Hudas Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Pretty straight-up protest song, really. | |

Apparently, part of the lyrics as translated go down as follows: Suvarn sur! - Sanskrit (Suvarna Sura) for golden hero, or shining lord. In short, a greeting to whoever's posing as the sun god. Scatter brand to the reneweller of the sky, thou who agnitest! - Scatter fire to the renewer of the sky, you who ignitest! With obvious ribs (to hindsight) to Agni, Hindu god of fire, and the Latin (?) for remember or reognize. As to who the renewer of the sky is, dunno. Dah! Archturis comeing! - Dah! Arthur/Arcturus is coming! Dunno much about the meaning of that, though, beyond the perception of Arcturus being the guard of Arcas and Leto (or Callisto?). We elect for thee, Tirtangel. - We elect for thee, Tintangel/Tyr, Tintangel being involved in the Arthurian legends, and Tyr being at one time head of the Norse pantheon. How those two correlate to one another is a mystery to me. Wordplay? We Durbalanars, theeadjure. - We Dubliners, thee adjure, durbala nars being Snaskrit for weak men (hear, hear! And for the Irish!) A way, the Margan, from our astamite... - A way, the Margan, from our estimate... Margan being one of two things: Sanskrit for way, course, hunting, seeking, and Morgan le Fay of Arthurian folklore. The lyrics give hint to Arthurian folklore; how this becomes a terrifying prospect is beyond me. |

| Sleepytime Gorilla Museum – A Hymn to the Morning Star Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Oh, did I type "Christmas"? My bad. I meant "Christ". | |
| Sleepytime Gorilla Museum – A Hymn to the Morning Star Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Methinks the lyrics point to an anti-Christmas solemnly singing about the wretchedness of Christianity, but if that is so, it would clash mightily with the nihilistic outlook of the album. | |
