I've always loved this song but it just recently took a much more personal meaning for me. I had a best friend. He was the greatest friend I'd ever had. We had an on-and-off relationship all summer. He's the first person I've ever loved. Now, he's in college. He has made new friends and only talks about them. We used to talk on the phone every night. Last night, he was at a party with his new friends. The night before he just didn't call at all. It hurts so much thinking about how much I'm losing him and how he doesn't even seem to care. I'm starting to realize that this was inevitable, though, and it's beginning to hurt less and less. This song describes my situation perfectly. "I remember here, I remember you and me, I remember wild and wild and free." This is our relationships. All of the greatest times we had together. "I remember 'stay', I remember 'please don't ever leave" The break ups and even right now. Me not wanting him to leave. "But the night came in to stay While you made up plans."
