This is one of Eef's most straightforward songs. What's hard to understand here? He's climbing inside a character, like he does in many of his songs. In this case, the narrator is a school-aged boy, emotionally damaged by being bullied and/or ignored by "the popular kids," and the song takes place in the middle of his suicide attempt. He's just tried (successfully or unsuccessfully, we don't know, but I lean toward thinking she wised up and got out okay) to persuade his girlfriend, whom he loves truly but obsessively, to commit suicide alongside him. He's deluded by his religious upbringing into thinking the afterlife will be much better than his actual life. |
