i get that this song is about war, but to me this song can be taken to a broader spectrum and applied to life.
about picking who you're going to be, figuring out who you are and even if we don't like to think of things this way we ultimatley choose a side. we separate ourselves from certain things. its a hard thing to do and people can be afraid to do it. "im just afraid to live"

to me this song is about finding God. "I found God on the corner of 1st and Amistad" and how this wonders where God was during all these hard times in his life. though it isn't blantantly stated in the song i feel like The Fray is trying to say that God is always there, but we have to look for him. We have to find God so if he shows up late then thats our fault for not letting him into our lives earlier. Thats just my opinion. |

Ezra Pound was an imagist poet during WW2 who openly supported Mousellini and was later convicted of treason or something like that. He plead insane and spent the rest of his life in a crazy house. I don't know what it has to do with the song, but maybe that'll lead someone to say something insightful about thes song. |
