The way I see it is that this girl likes the verse singer because he is famous and she wants people to know she is with him for that reason. Hence "she likes to hang with the stars", "Wants to paint the picture and say she my broad" etc lines. The guy knows this and that she can't not be trusted and that she is probably cheating, because "thats the word on round the block". Therefore, he is paying her no attention and is saying that he dosn't want to be pinned done by her eg. "Tried of playing that role" The guy in the chours is the one she is cheating with and knows this and what she is like, so he dons't really care. They know what they are doing is wrong. She thought the passion she had with either guy was love, but it wasn't. So in the end she ends up alone. Moral of the song, don't sleep with two guys at once! lol |

I love this song so much! And I'm from Vic, Aust and have heard it on the radio quite a bit now. I think it could be "rate yourself and break yourself" as that makes more sense. but the more more I listen to it the more I become unsure about it. As I take it, its about some one whether it be him or another whom is arrogant and self absorbed and probably blames their mistakes on others. Then that person is starting to realize their ways and how they have hurt other people (chours lyrics). He is "weeping/trembling" for himself because he is starting to see the error in his ways and the extent of what he has lost. He'll "never be brave (his former "bad" self) as what he was at the start". But at the same time I can see how the lyrics could be seen as sarcastic too. So who knows? Its just such a good song though. |
