well just cause the lyrics are 'controversial' doesnt make the band ahit. I listen to the most brutal shit imaginable, but im still a normal person. I may be an atheist, but I dont fucking outright reject religion, ive tried a few. Also, if I believed everything in all lyrics, I would have killed hundreds of ppl by now, end of story. So I want to see how you interpret this, I really do. |

OMG!!! YOU ACTUALLY SUMMED UP THE WHOLE SONG IN ONE GO! It's all there, they know they dont want to have actual lyrics, but this band is one of my absolute favorites, and music is my life, I also fancy myself to be very interpretive and intellectual with this sort of thing. I know you may not think so, but all i see is them saying we have no reason to write, we wont give a reason to write, we are not going to write for you or anybody, and we will keep it that way. In short, the meaning behind the lyrics is "UP YOURS BECAUSE YOUR THE 'MAN'!" |

Actually, I think PaintTheSkyline is right, dont ever take the lyrics too literally. To be made no sense of is to have that strange quality the so called "cool" kids possess, and that makes you mysterious and/or pointless to the world. |

The one thing that really sticks out to me is how it says "twilight fading" in the lyrics, either meaning end or beginning of the day, and before they use the symbolism of colors and different visual aspects to convey very very deep meanings into this song. Blue: It's a plastic blue, which tends to be a light blue in most cases, a happy, carefree, and youthful color. Possibly, the innocence of youth? Black: Used with the imagery of a car crash, it is violence, dissention, possibly destruction. It's more powerful when its combined with the color blue though. Shadows in the pale shade of blue, if I am correct, the loss of innocence and the gain of outward hatred. |
