My Chemical Romance – DESTROYA Lyrics 15 years ago
If you listen to live versions of the song he says "sick."It's just the album version that's a bit strange.

This actually my favorite song from Danger Days to listen to,even though I think there are other better ones on there(if that makes sense?)Anyway,I have just one question:what does he mean by "with duct tape scars on my honey"?I feel like an idiot for asking but I get the feeling that I'm missing something...

Dir En Grey – Agitated Screams of Maggots Lyrics 16 years ago
Enough about Kyo's English already!Obviously it can't be that bad since he writes in English ALL THE TIME.Sure his pronunciation isn't perfect, but if you hadn't noticed,HE'S JAPANESE.And even if he didn't have an accent,it would still be hard to understand him because of the way he sings.I always have to look up lyrics to understand things properly, even in songs sung(not screamed)by native English-speakers,so lay off already. His language skills have nothing to do with the song or its lyrics.

Dir En Grey – Kodou (English) Lyrics 16 years ago
This is probably my favorite Dir en grey song and definitely the one I can relate to the most. The way I see it (that is,what it says to me and how I apply the lyrics to my own life):

"The sadness on the face will probably be gone tomorrow
When did my eyes become dead?"-This person goes from being fine with his life to a state of depression and eventually ceases to feel anything at all. Also,it could that he is hiding that sadness behind a happy face, but the pain is still there,so the smiles never reach his eyes.
"What is waiting for me tomorrow as I sing and live without meaning?
Alone in my room as my heartbeat screams
Don't kid yourself and don't fool yourself"-The future is painful to think about;after all,if there is nothing to live for,why would you want life to go on?His heart pounds and "screams" at the prospect of having to leave his room and continue living. He wants to end it all,but who is he kidding? He's too cowardly to commit suicide.Another interpretation of the last line is that he is fooling himself into believing that his situation is worse than it actually is.
"I am addicted to this perceived fate
I am alone I linger on to this fate
Don't kid yourself and don't wound yourself"-These lines have a masochistic feel;they seem to say that he has become so accustomed to his depressed existence that he can no longer live any other way.He thinks he is alone and that no one can help him change,so he doesn't even bother to try.The last line, like the one the verse before it,could be interpreted as the rational side of him telling him to suck it up because things aren't as bad as he thinks.
"Kill the voice Close your eyes Drown in the darkness Roam around
I won't depend on anyone anymore
Kill the voice Close your eyes Drown in the darkness Roam around
I keep inside me your keen voice...
All in darkness"-His pain has its origins in the actions of another person, someone very close to him that he had become dependent on.He's tormented by the sound of that person's voice or something they once said.He stuck in a dark tunnel and can't see the light at the end;he keeps wandering through it,hoping to one day get out.
"The unstoppable rain The unstoppable sound The unstoppable scar
The unstoppable love The unstoppable song...
I can't stop it anymore
I can't handle it anymore"-The first part of this section is difficult to interpret;it could just be a reminder of life going on.The second part is probably the climax or turning point of the song.He finally admits how he feels out in the open. All the emotions have been building up until he can't help but let it out with a scream.
"Its such an irony this sunny bright weather
-Good Morning-"-The voice Kyo sings this section in makes me think of hope and an awakening. The speaker has finally found the light at the end of the tunnel, and, though he has too much baggage left over to find the bright weather appropriate,he can confidently look at the world and say 'good morning.'(This part is my favorite, especially since I live the so-called "Sunshine State.")

Sorry this is so long;this song really affects me whenever I hear it, and it felt wrong to keep all this to myself.Like I said, this is just how I apply the song to my own life, not necessarily the way Kyo intended it to be interpreted.

Dir En Grey – Kigan (English) Lyrics 16 years ago
While it would make sense if this song was about a rape,I think it is more likely that the woman is a prostitute, possible one that was treated badly. She looks disheveled because, honestly, who wants a pregnant prostitute? The irony of her situation, that is,she makes a living from sex but it was sex that took away her job, isn't lost on her, which is why she laughs. Also ironic:the line "let the woman's corpse bloom" makes it seem that she died, possibly in childbirth.

Anyway, that's just what I think it COULD mean.I doesn't really matter;the song was great before I ever even read the lyrics.

Dir En Grey – Mazohyst Of Decadence (English) Lyrics 16 years ago
To me, this is Diru's most disturbing song and video. It's a more subtle type of horror than they've used before, which makes even more creepy. It's sill a great song, though, and I still listen to it,every once in a while, even if it hurts.
