Steppenwolf – Magic Carpet Ride Lyrics 14 years ago
The song's obviously about drugs.

Yes, there can be a sex-related thing with the line "why don't you come with me little girl, on a magic carpet ride" but that's all. The whole song can be related to drugs. Plus, it wouldn't be the first time they did a song about drugs (check out Don't Step On The Grass, Sam)

I remember the first time I heard it. In my friend's car, completely high, and we discovered that this song is fucking perfect while driving high !

Megadeth – Elysian Fields Lyrics 15 years ago
I know the Elysian Fields as the place un Hell where the heroes and the virtuous go to rest for eternity, in Greek Mythology. But I like how every meanings here are different, yet really interesting.

Slash – Paradise City Lyrics 15 years ago
Greatest Rock N' Roll Hymn EVER. And Cypress Hill had to go all hey-let's-do-a-rap-cover-of-this-incredible-song about it. Sad story.

At least, it wasn't on the Standard edition.

Megadeth – Hangar 18 Lyrics 15 years ago
My god, get your facts straight guys.

I don't even listen to Megadeth, but I know for sure what this song is all about.

Hangar 18 is the name given to a hangar somewhere in Area 51 (wich is located in Groom Lake, south Nevada) where there is (according to Bob Lazar, ex-worker on S4, a secret place that works with Area-51. It may be somewhere in the hills right south of Area 51, if you check on google maps. It's hidden, like, it's just doors that are IN the mointains, painted the same colour as the ground, with sand on it) a flying saucer that was caught by Area-51 and hidden for further analysis. Bob Lazar was the chosen one to go and analyse that saucer. He said fucked up things about, like, it became invisible when he got in it, and shits like this. That guy was kidnapped after the few interviews he gave.

So, the song's about that fact that military intelligence and governement are hiding us the truth about UFOs, aliens and all that stuff. They know it's real, but don't want to tell the people for whatever reason.

If you search a little on the internet (Wiki helps a lot) you can find interesting shits about this.

Slash – Crucify the Dead Lyrics 15 years ago
I don't know if it's the actual meaning, but that's the way I interpret it.

It seems to me like it's the fan's opinion about Guns N' Roses "breakup".

"The fire started long ago" --> The feud between Axl and Slash
"The flames burned out, still embers glow
So charred and black
There's nothing left to burn, to burn" --> There's nothing left to say, though people still talks 'bout it

Especially the line "A loaded gun jammed by a rose" as if Guns N' Roses was a loaded gun, ready to fire at anytime, but Axl Rose fucked it all up ("jammed by a rose")

"The thorns are not around your head
"Your ego cursed you till you bled" --> Means it's not Axl's fault, but his ego's.
"You cannot crucify the dead" --> Even if you always tell shit 'bout Slash & co., it won't give you anything.
"To me you're dead" --> Means that without the other members, he is kinda worthless.

"We were like brothers with the world in our hands" --> comparing his (Ozzy Osbourne) popularity to Guns N' Roses' popularity.
"You always have too much to say" --> He did too much shit and it resulted in the band leaving him alone.
"Someday you look back and you wonder why
You let it all slip away, yeah" --> One day, Axl may regret what he did.

Hinder – Take It To The Limit Lyrics 16 years ago
Hinder should DEFINITELY make more songs like these.

They have too much ballads/love songs, in my opinion. This one, Room 21 and Loaded And Alone are really good 00's Rock songs.
