I think he is telling of a time that he will always remember, the summer, it's who he is and will always be. People keep telling him to move on from that fun summer aspect of his life and get back to reality but no matter what he will not give into that because he knows who he is and where he belongs. |

I agree with Ezup17 this song is about a barrier between two people and they both watch time slip away as life continues on and they both grow older. Cassiopeia is a constellation and it means queen, so i guess in his eyes that is what she is to him and will always be that to him. "Lightning comes and lightning goes" could mean other women in his life, showing that they're all the same to him but she was the only one that really stood out. This song is touching upon a relationship that had already existed but ended badly due to certain circumstances such as ego, Jenkin's could be telling a story about an egotistical girl who burned him in the past but even though he let her go his feelings for her are still there and he wishes that they could some how. "If nothing else I am myself its all I have to give" this is him telling her that this is who I am nothing more and that he will not change to impress anyone not even her but at the same time he wants to her to want him again in the way that he deserves. Very deep song one of my favourites lol |
