first of allll..i absolutely LOVE this song. best eveeer. second, i think this has so many different meanings or ways of interpreting it for meee, i feel like i'm on both sides. i could be singing this or someone could be singing this to me.. from one point of view, it's how those people that are obsessed with you, well, they aren't any fun. i find myself always liking the guys that don't like me. "there are certain people that you just keep coming back to," i keep going back to the ones that will never work out. butttt. my other way of interpreting is waaaay different. "there are certain people that you just keep coming back to"--you've dated/liked a guy and something went wrong. for me, specifically i got the guy when another friend wanted him, but no longer together. "you begin to wonder could you find a better one. compared to her now, she's in question."--you feel bad about that friend so you try liking someone else..the first guy is still in your mind, but so is the new one. "sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same"--you have to move on and forget him cause friends are more important..but you like him so much that you can't, but you try anyway. "maybe you want her, maybe you need her, maybe you started to compare to someone not there."--you really think he's the one..except when you imagine a perfect guy that you know is impossible "maybe you want it, maybe you need it, maybe it's all you're running from..perfection will not come."--no matter if you pick the guy or girl will things be easy. "and all at once the crowd begins to sing: sometimes...."--you know you should pick the friend before the boyfriend, but you still wonder if its the right thing to do. "we'd never know what's wrong without the pain"--if it was easy, why were you even questioning yourself? one obviously means more. "maybe you want her, maybe you need her, maybe you had her, maybe you lost her to another..to another."--you gave up on him and went to your friend. but now he's moving on so quickly and you're still stuck on him and want him..even though you told him the exact opposite so you could be a good friend. nothing goes as planned, but at least you did the right thing..or you thinkkk. |
