| The first time I heard this song, I thought it was a love song, the guy telling the girl he missed her when she was away, that he needed her and everything.... but I think it's about drugs, because he says: "When you go away, you leave me with a sweet sorrow killing me inside, and an empty autumn in my veins that's only filled with a little more of your essence in my veins..." | I agree with rent-a-trent, this song is based on "The Scarlet Letter". This novel is about an adultress so this song is probably related. She's saying she's pretty in scarlet, that means it suits her well, because she's worn it (A.K.A been an adultress) so many times that it's just natural for her. Anyway that't what I think. | |

I think this song is about a couple breaking up.
