My Chemical Romance – Welcome To The Black Parade Lyrics 16 years ago
I don't know, maybe it's just my immagination, but this song reminds me a lot of Supernatural (the tv series, the one in which the two brothers wander around to kill ghosts and demons).

I mean: the elder of them (I think he's called Dean) is speaking, and tells us that since he was a young boy his father taught him that in in the world tere are lots of dangers and needy people, and that one day it will be his duty to help them, and to defeat "his demons" (the ones in his head too), predictiong that he will be dead, that because of his extremely dangerous life. In fact, it happens, and then the singer is alone with his brother in their "work". The sentence "Sometimes I get the feeling she's watching over me" could be ascribed to them both, as them both are haunted by the memory of a loved woman lost (the mother for the elder, the girlfriend for the younger); "And other times I feel like I should go" is referred to their wandering life. The chorus refers to their ideal: anything may happen, they'll always keep on living their lives that way; the person he's talking to is probably their father, which will leave his memory somehow to the world, but mainly in their memories. About the ending of the song, the singer seems to disappoint the message his father gave him as a child, as in fact in the series sometimes happens (until their father is alive, they often argue with him about everything he does and the way he taught them), but in the end they always keep living as they've done so far. The part "Do or die - You'll never make me - Because the world will never take my heart - Though they try, they'll never break me - We want it all, we wanna play this part" may be about the demon they hunt since the beginning, the one which killed their mother and their father too, and the only reason to keep on "hunting" they have for a while.

Well, maybe I'm just crazy, but it's really an odd resemblance...

The Rasmus – Lucifer's Angel Lyrics 16 years ago
It's probably about some supernatural creature with the appearance of a beautiful woman (or man), but also with it's nature and humanity. She is haunted because of her powers, that due to the human ignorance ("Beyond this world, you'll be safe from their wicked fears"). Nobody can help her, but thanks to her powers, which also are the reason of her isolation, she can survive all alone against everyone else ("On your own, I know you can make it. Truth or bone, I know you can shake it. Survive alone, I know you can take it")

I just need one thing; I'm not english, and I can't really understand the meaning of "truth or bone"; could someone explain it to me?

The Rasmus – Justify Lyrics 16 years ago
Maybe this is their saddest song ever; an unborn love, which was "all that he needed to justify his life". But he has not gone mad with pain, he is still reasoning on what happened and has to happen ("It's only right - That I should go - And find myself - Before I go and ruin - Someone else"), focusing instead on his pain.

Within Temptation – Utopia Lyrics 16 years ago
Well, I think the general meaning is way more simple. The Utopia we're listening about is "the perfect romance"; the perfect romance that they would like to live now, and also the Perfect Romance that everyone could in theory live ("in search of the cure of mankind"). They're together, but they don't really seem to understand each other. So, Sharon hopes to find "the door to open your mind", that is a way to make her lover understand her perfectly; to carry out the dream in colour she's dreaming. But it necessarely rains on utopia (in their romance they have to face problems). I think that "the ideal of who we are" is referred to them both together, as a couple, and not to each of them singly.
The "lights" supposed to "die down" are just a way to express the end of any argument and misunderstanding, which still seems far far away.

The Rasmus – Dead Promises Lyrics 16 years ago
I think the whole meaning depends on the first part; he's been given a choice, to stay outside and "welcome the day" or to "follow the one, and hide from the sun". Now, we have to guess that he followed the guy, because after that moment he says that everything he had been promised was untrue ("Dead promises - paintings of the world so pure"), and now he doesn't have the chance to welcome the day anymore.
Besides, he says he is now in his private paradise made up of shadows, and he doesn't seem to regret the life he has lost. So, maybe, the "dead promises" are the ones made by the outer world, that he now recognises as what they are, just lies; maybe that is the reason why he "can't" see the sun.

The Rasmus – Sail Away Lyrics 16 years ago
Well, I think it's not about a love story ending, but dead instead; they lived all their lives together loving each other and now he's gonna die, so he reminds her all the moments they shared. Lastly, he says he's not afraid to "sail away", and urges her to keep on living her life also without him. About the line in which he says "How grateful to die - To live once again", I think it may refers to an afterlife in heaven or some.

By the way, in lyrics I see "greatfull" instead of "grateful", someone should change it.
