I love this song (let's face it, I love all the songs on Allison Iraheta's album...it's just so goood!) If this is just the startings or the beginning of Allison writing/co-writing her songs, then I can't wait for the rest! I love the idea/concept of this song. In Allison's words, "Pre-judgement sucks". The song's self explanatory. Allison's singing to a person/people who keep judging her, without even truly knowing her. They keep making assumptions and judging too quickly when they don't know anything about her or her personal life. I love the line " 'Cause you don't know me. You don't know what's real. And I'm not sorry for who I am, for what I feel" !! |

I LOVE this song. Her vocals on it are incredible. You can feel the raw emotion just by listening. I nearly cried the first time I heard it. It was "gut wrenching" and it really got to you. I still don't know who it's towards. It can be interpreted as "daughter-father" or Allison could be singing it to a guy whom she can't be perfect for. I love the meaning of the song though..on how we all have scars and we're not perfect...but these "scars" make up who we are. |

I agree with MomoTheStrange. The guy did her wrong and broke her heart. Allison wants to show the guy that she doesn't need him. She's basically stating that she can still breath and survive without him. That's he's no longer her everything. At first she didn't realize that she was letting herself go through such suffering but when she did in fact realize what was happening she stopped. She let him know, point blank, that she doesn't need him and things are better without him. |

This song is pretty self-explantory as well. Allison's basically stating that what goes around comes around. The guy did her wrong and left her for another girl. Now when he's coming back..asking for forgiveness..Allison's finally happy and doesn't want to deal with him and says that she "can be cruel just like you" (you being the guy in the situation). She says that their love is gone, their relationship is dead, and she can be just as cruel as he was to her. In it's simplest form...karma's a b*tch |

I completely agree with hpman247. I think it's about someone who really likes Allison and at first she doesn't realize what he truly means to her...but obviously, through the song she does. It could be a guy best friend or a guy that likes her.
It's a hopeful love song. In the beginning, Allison acknowledges that she's not perfect and she has hard times..and that the guy is there through it all and thinks the highest of her. She later on goes to say that he's always been there through thick and thin and that there's "simply no one else in the world she could ever find" like him. Allison sings about how even though she doesn't treats him as well as he deserves, he still "comes back for more". Towards the end, she hopes and prays that he never goes away, despite all the wrong she's done him.
Like hpman247, I think she doesn't act on but mentally, she realizes all that he does for her and all that he puts up with. It's a really amazing, heartfelt song. Probably one of my favorites on the album :) |

JEEZE. Allison's vocals on this song are incredible. Definitely blows you away. Towards the end, when she reaches those high notes..you're just like woah. I, being a fan since day 1, didn't even know she could go that high. Allison has some insane talent. The power in her voice, the way she interprets a song, and her vocal range blows away all of the teenagers in the music industry of today...and even some of the adults, if I may say so myself. Don't forget to buy her album, Just Like You..now available everywhere! :D
I think this song's about a troubled relationship. Like...Allison doesn't know where her relationship with the guy is going. Are they going to stay together or break up? She's so confused and can't make up her mind. She doesn't want to lose the guy but everything's slipping away. It really digs deep and gets to your emotions. I nearly cried when I heard the song. Allison slips perfectly into the mood or character in the song and makes you feel what you're supposed to feel. Amazing..simply, amazing. |

| Allison Iraheta – Don't Waste The Pretty Lyrics

This song has amazing vocals. At the end, when Allison wails and reaches high notes..it just blows you away. What a talented young lady. I really hope she goes far. I have her album, and honestly...there is not one bad/boring song on there! I love each and every one of them.
The song is pretty self-explantory. Allison's telling girls to not waste their time on something that isn't worth it. An example used..is a guy. If the guy doesn't love/like you back or isn't treating you correctly, don't waste time on him. Spend time on something more important to you. "Don't waste the pretty on him. Don't waste the pretty on pain. When it gets too much to take, don't give it away. Don't waste the pretty on life, 'cause soon it's gonna fly on by" basically states this. I love the end where she sings "And just in case you need reminding, well you're beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. And there ain't no use in your heartache 'cause your beautiful, beautiful, beautiful". It's a wonderful message to any teenager or adult actually. |

| Allison Iraheta – Beat Me Up Lyrics

In it's most basic form, people are going to take it as a song about sex like "hpman247" stated or domestic violence. Allison herself said it's more psychological or emotional abuse, which is equally wrong as domestic violence. Personally, I know that this happens to tons of teenagers. Girls, for some reason (and I am one and I don't even know why) still like a guy even after he's a jerk to them. This guy could be their boyfriend, their crush, whomever. It's like the quote stating something among the lines of "How could you break my heart, but I could still love you with all the shattered pieces?" The guy could be cheating, not calling, leading the girl on, or even destroy the girl's heart..and the girl, for some reason or another, still loves him. She still thinks he's "everything" even when he's hurt her...ergo the line "And I really don't care what they say about me 'cause he gives me everything I want. And they don't know what it's like when you need somebody to the point they can do no wrong" It's horrible...but it happens. |
