I'm pretty sure this is a song of hope and regret for a love lost. He begins professing his eternal love by promising to stand by her always and to always think of her in the brightest light. This is the line he cant help but repeat. He goes on to explain how they had let confusion(searching for an answer) lead them down a path and before they realized it the relationship was in a place they'd never intended. It definatly didnt start that way. The next verse kinda contradicts itself. It show's that he will always have hope, but at the same time he knows things wont be like they were for a long time, until even possibly, the end of the world(until the skys open up and the trumpet starts).(never?) I think he's looking for another chance and even if he can't get it, he wants her to know that he will always be there for her. |
