| Iron & Wine – Low Light Buddy of Mine Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Interesting. I was thinking that maybe "Buddy" is the third person of a lovers triangle, an ex-boyfriend of hers and an old friend of his, but that friendship "won't last" since 'he loves her and she loves he', and new fruit's 'humming' in the two main lovers' trees (maybe new fruit humming is a reference to rekindled desire?). | |
| Nirvana – Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Jesus would never want to be martyred, killed, and he would not want others to be martyred, killed, in His name, obviously. Kurt is just getting the idea across taht martyring is for evil people living on earsth, or just stupid misinformed people living on earth or else religious zealots living on earth, but it's not for him. Kurt did not martyr himself, however much his deaht may avenge, but he was escaping a hell he hated and if it happens to come off as a martyrs might, who the fuck cares. |

| Nirvana – Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| G-D to I love that line: "She'll come back as fire to burn all the liars". Ever since I heard it it has resonated so deeply with me and I don't know why. I mean, I'm a peace-loving person, would never take personal revenge on anyone on purpose, and so why do i love that line?? Maybe because I am as if in love, in want, in desire, obsessed with Justice actually occuring. Justice is like some wet dream I have that never manifests into anything. But I can taste in when I hear it and that line is it. | |
| Nirvana – Dumb Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
This song means that he is the only one in the world who thinks, who has any sense and in this way he appears dumb. With a world full of idiocy, anything an intelligeng, insightful human might say is percieved as stupid. He knows this, it is why he can only pretend to have a good time around others, because they are complete idiots too. He has hope that there is one "dumb" person, somehow he hangs on to this here, that he will know, that he already knows, whatever. Likely it's the studio audience coming in to rape him again, but that's another story. |

| Nirvana – Drain You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This is about liking some one so much that you end up draining them. Your energy to learn the person you like, to be with them exceeds their energy to do the same back, for all kinds of reasons. But it is like scaring someone off, draining them, of whatever attraction they first had for you. But, if they'd just come as they were... | |
| Nirvana – Come As You Are Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This is the other song that made me fall in love with KC. I know that longing, to want someone to be present and real and normal and not uptight about not being perfectly whatever. And not worrying aobut the hangover or the rest of the relationship. Allowing us into your mind, playing in all the ways we want each other to be like, in safetly, in honesty, in peace, with love. Come as you are, as the person we already know you to be, just be unafraid. | |
| Nirvana – About a Girl Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song made me fall in love with KC. Back then, when I was a young adult, I didn't even know a guy with this sort of criteria, having a mind, in other words.. | |
| Nirvana – All Apologies Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| "Choking on the ashes of her enemy"??? Is that right? I never heard that before at all. How sad. | |
| Nirvana – Lithium Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I like this song, but it is so depressing. It just reminds me too much of why he killed himself, or something. Probably when he got sick and tired of the friends in his head fucking with him, I would imagine, he tried to blow them away, knowing he never could, but least they'd be out of HIS skill. I kid, ya, right, I mean, if you ever got to artist stage, top, like him, you'd know how it all fucking works, these days, and how bad, bad bad, it is. I think he may not have died in vain, becuase he made an excellent point that he could not satisfy those manipulative types in the recesses of power, or whatever, those who made him depend on lithium and forced disease on a decent mind in an effort to better manipulate and drive him to the horrifying pain he had to endure while they sat in the dark entertained and enjoying the performance he would rather call his life. If you only had this experience you would feel so much empathy for the guy and realize what drove him to use and realize how "THEY" keep us down with disease and usage and the rest. THose fuckers, acting like they're your frineds, then, if you say something that don't agree with them, watch out, they'll fucking take you down in a second and you'll find yourself institutionalized or worse. He put up a good fight and i don't blame him one bit for being a martyr for every artist, and person, that tries or has tried to live this hell. | |
| Nirvana – Lounge Act Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I really don't get what he means when he says, "They'll go out of their way to prove they still,,,, smell her on you, smell her on you, smell her on you". Who's they?? Some weird fucking jury or something??? I mean who, exactly, can smell his precious 'her' on the imitation of her? Who is making the imitation smell like teen spirit, or whatever? Must've been his imagination or those damn friends in his head or the studio audience who feels less dangerous, when the light's off, they. They, they stick around nosing and forcing the scene, contorting the show, cuz, when the lights off it's less dangerous, here THEY are now entertain them.. And they like it and they suck it, and they fuck it till they fight it, then they ruin it, everytime. |

| Nirvana – Lounge Act Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Funny how he don't regret a thing, how he's got this friend, you see, who makes him feel and want and more, and he knows just how she feels cuz he's not regretting that time, he's not regretting this friend you see, he only wishes, now, since he's here and home, now, please,, let me smell her on you, anything like her, on her, at home. He don't regret a thing, he only wishes she could be her... Awesome song. My favorite, i think. "Don't tell me what i wanna hear, Afraid of always knowing FEAR." | |
| R.E.M. – Binky The Doormat Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It never occurred to me that this song was about sex, just call me stupid or naive, but I do think it is about not wanting to hang with a beautiful person, a beauty who's only shine is their hide, their hard shell that is impenetrable to any kind of feeling or knowing, can only 'fuck with and traumatize' but can not be nice or find their inner beauty, probably ever. | |
| R.E.M. – Undertow Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Finding the place you should be and then drowning in loneliness, feeling righteous, and feeling stranded. Feeling found and looking lost. Trudging a new course, no religion, no heaven, on faith, on the fly, in risk and fear, in certainty and by your self. | |
| Beastie Boys – The Maestro Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is an example of what "Gratitude" is about: when you have so much to say it's called Gratitude. Although, Maestro lacks substance besides bragging about this gift. | |
| Nirvana – Lithium Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think Lithium is an expression of frustration and anger at finding Nirvana or that spiritual high everyone dreams about, only to find that you're completely alone and isolated in the world, which, by definition would be insanity--not able to relate with anyone alive. Over all it is an example of finding god in Hell. the world we live in, in other words. | |
| U2 – Running To Stand Still Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| "I took the poison from the poison stream" Could also be the singer's adulterous meanderings, allowing him to float out of a bad relationship and be held in some loving arms too. | |
| U2 – Running To Stand Still Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| there were also 7 towers in Thebes, the city Oedipus tried to escape his fate in being King of, I think. | |
| U2 – Running To Stand Still Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song is certainly not about drug addiction, unless, losing love leads people to drug abuse. Which makes sense. I think it is about, quite simply, a man finding love outside of a love-less relationship, and trying to escape, "I see 7 towers, but i only see one way out." |
