| Frou Frou – It's Good to Be in Love Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This song is beautifully miserable; it's hauntingly parallel with my life, and i think a lot of people are going through the same. The first five lines depict how she's stuck in indecision or confusion and trying to deal with life on the wrong side of unrequited love. To me, "cucumber eyes" can mean tired, puffy eyes from either lack of sleep how much she's been crying. or it describes how she has perfected her art of hiding how she truly feels towards him. The 5th line sort of reinforces the latter, where she admits her feelings of vulerability and sensing a critical eye from the man she aches for. The chorus reiterates how awe-inspiring this man is to her, with everything "suiting him" and how everything not dealing with this man is only in grayscale, lacking of his vibrancy. I adore this because of the verse's simplicity and at the same time being extremely powerful with the message it gives to the listener. I really love the desperation the song subtly gives out, especially through her line of being "black and blue all over" and her repetition of "how's it happening?". I feel like she comes to the conclusion of loss when she repeats "it's good to be in love" at the end of the song; it's almost as if she has resigned to teaching herself to live to be alone, and live a life knowing that at least he is happy, even if it means destroying or sacrificing her own happiness. |
