i still find it strange how the my title bar says "song meanings.net", not "song opinions.net. with that being said id like to finally interpret this song: abate the ones who hesitate to stand their ground= fuck conformists rally when the sky is falling, catch the clouds= point out the governments weakness, rebel and attack(vocally or forcibly), then rebuild from the broken pieces. together ants can overcome and kill the ox= alone we cant do anything but together we can take down the ever-expanding government behemoth. the only key is knowing how to break the locks= you just have to know your motives and what your doing. i know this plant will keep growing= chris cash is refering to the government as a plant(probably because the government is perpetually expanding its power, just as a plant does with its roots.) you water it without even knowing= you inadvertently fuel this machine. and everytime you choose to consume= i assume "consume" means to "buy" because when you purchase anything, a percentage of that money funds some politician's agenda. another arm on the poison vine blooms= and when you do fund it, the government expands even more. never praise the gods with human sacrifice= maybe this means: dont worship false idols or maybe; dont think the government is all powerful and dont further their agenda but if yer dogs are itchin' you can scratch the lice= but if you think you have to, go ahead live free or die tryin' and reject the boss= self explanatory. pay the toll or burn the bridge and swim across= do what they tell you or rebel and do it your way. |

| well when i found this site i was really hoping to find actual meanings for these songs, not little kids quoting the words in the song or saying how cool it is. with that being said id like to share my meaning of this song: if you look at the bands history they are known for their anti-government and anti-political beliefs.this song is implying that since our government has total control over our education, that they ultimately control what we learn. thus indoctrinating the nation at its core(children). the government can erase history and rewrite it, in fact they already press their values on us, like portraying nazis and communists as perpetually evil. so to summarize: our education is filled with lies and the sugar coated american history, which renders our educational system inate and redundant. | |
