i really don't think like you do! all the drugs theory's just don't fit in! for me, it's a need, an addict, but relacted to another person, something more personel then drugs! sex maybe! and he also doesn't want to get too close, it's kind a fight betewen what he wants, and what the other person want's! this song whas written thinking on someone else, or for someone else, and of course, speaking to someone else, it's quite clear to me! the steps of alcoholic recovery are present on the album and all songs, but it doesn't mean that all the songs were written about drugs, or alcohol... there are other addictions, needs, like sex... 'i am what i am after'... he lies to get what he want's, after he is satisfied, he reveal's him self! he is talking about a single moment, that moment, he asks for the moment, and not for drugs... sorry about my english! :) great great song... |

oh, someone had said that 'i am what i am after' is related to drug, but why isn't it about sex?? are you the some person before sex and after sex? do you 'smile', after getting what you need, if you don't like the person you had sex with? when i do drugs, i do it, to be different, not to be what i am! |
