this used to be my favorite song about two years ago just because it's musically so beautiful. recently i've been through a lot of pain and struggle and the other day i listened to this song again and connected with it so strongly. the lyrics are amazing and speak to me/define my life right now so much. basically what I think the song is about, and the interpretation comes from what i feel based on what i've experienced, is not about a relationship with someone else but more of an internal, personal struggle & trying to run away/end your problems but sometimes you need to let someone help you or take the time to help yourself instead of simply giving in or giving up |

There was a 17 year old boy who was from around where I live and he died this past summer, before his senior year, in a drunk driving accident. His best friend was the driver, and she was drunk. She survived. When I hear this song it makes me think of what she might have/still is thinking. His name was Joey. |
