is it about society? the "pretty people" have influenced the way this person sees everything but the narrator is slowly starting to see what is wrong with the world and his/her view of everything is changed drastically. just a possibility.. but i agree, the failed relationship meaning seems to make more sense. |

| This song really hits me hard. It's so beautiful and powerful to begin with, but it is a situation that a lot can relate to - (if my interpretation is correct?) trying to forget someone. the pain is inevitable in his voice - especially showing at the "i'm waking up now" verse. it's one of those songs where you just close your eyes and let yourself be engulfed by the sound. headphones recommended. | |

Hey guys... i was just singing the song on karaoke and then i listened to the actual song..and isn't it "cream of the fight" for the first time the chorus is sung? i know the second time is "thrill of the fight though." so i'm wondering if "cream" is a reference to blood and gore or something else entirely. like sweat. |

It's about a childhood romance that he can't forget about. At the time, they had no idea who they were, but when they were with each other, it felt like they were being the person they wanted to be. he keeps talking about how he's never going to tell them her name - name being who you are - what people identify you as. it sound like she doesn't want anyone to know who she really is, or know about her past. she just gets caught up in it, and sounds like she loses herself along the way. her mind is always somewhere else -"It's lonely where you are come back down." he misses her, and just wants her to know he'll never tell "them" all her secrets and everything that makes her who she is. this is probably wrong, but i think this song can be interpreted in a lot of different ways. |
