| I'm pretty sure that it's about someone who had the chance to have a perfect relationship and be with the love of his life or whatever ("painted pictures of a never never land, I could've gone to that place") but he was too stubborn or otherwise ignorant to get that, and he messed things up. hence "I didn't understand". | |
