I'm confused as to how many people are in this story, and who's doing what... Ok, we have the narrator. We have a "someone" who sings the name of the person the narrator refers to as "you". That's 3 so far, yes? We have a stranger who sees the narrator crumble because "someone" sings "your" name. FIne, 4. WHO is the narrator asking to hold their heart and WHO is begging? Is the narrator's heart begging to be buried beside...um..."you"? Then the devil pops around. 5. The devil helps the narrator forget "you". Mkay... THEN the narrator asks from "you" to take away the misery. Is that the same "you", or is he now directly talking to the devil? And then the chorus... it's almost as if the narrator switches and the "you" mentioned before is replying. Or is the devil replying?? Ugh, anyone care to help me untangle this? By the way, this is one of the most beautiful, erotic, soothing, tantalizing, sad, relieving, revealing, addictive, tricky, sneaky, irresistible songs my ears have ever heard. All in 4:35. Damn. |

Who says it's a symbol? But if it is, I guess the river would be letting go of our delusional self-importance and accept that we are part of a whole; going with the flow. I'm guessing that must be a humbling experience. |

The bear is not mentioned in the end. Why? "A polar." Let's try metaphor. (from Google): polar: having a pair of equal and opposite charges bear: support or hold in a certain manner hmm... |
