| Earl Thomas Conley – What I'd Say Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I love this song. It speaks to a very dark time in getting over a relationship. He's having such a hard time moving on that he imagines that first encounter. He doesn't even know how he'll react. The last line of "I guess you'll have to wait until that day to find out what I'd say" is particularly haunting. | |

| Personally, I think it's the father's perspective for the entire song. The last part at the end could easily be the Dad talking to the son, saying that I hope you remember those rides fondly. | |

| Forgive the un-initiated here, but is this song in some foreign language, or is it just random chanting? Very curious if there is some cultural history to this song. | |

I've always been confused by one lyric in here: I read those words just hours before my Grandma passed away In the doorway of a church where me and Grandpa stopped to pray I know I'd never seen him cry in all my fifteen years But as he said these words to her, his eyes filled up with tears Is it saying that his Grandma passed away in the doorway of the church? Always read strange to me. |
