This song has been one of my favorites for years. Lately, it has new meaning for me. A friend of mine had a mental breakdown and is in the psych ward at the hospital. I visit him a lot, but he really has been hallucinating and framing what's happening to his mind in terms of a spiritual awakening. He says his previous life was a dream, and he just woke up. He says he reached nirvana and it will take him awhile to adjust. I think he has no idea what's going on, really, and sometimes it's all he can do to sit there and stare at one spot. But sometimes I wonder, what if he's the one who really knows what's going on? He has found himself afraid to see. Gonna play this one on repeat for a bit. |
