Weidmann is an older german word meaning hunter ausweiden means to thin out, they thin out the forest. The song is basically about a hunters desire to kill an animal. He says he has been waiting for days and will wait until morning because he wants to give blattschuss ( a perfect shot into the chest area, can also mean defeating someone severely) to a Kahlwild (hunterterm deer-Artiodactyla family), then he sees a schmalwild (hunterterm for female or juvenile deer) comin out of the grass where it sunbathed, it moves quickly through the pine forest, the mirror shines? and he puts the rifle to his shoulder, the deers tail moves quickly, the rifle comes out of the case. I dust bast (fuzzy skin that grows on antlers) off and give her a shot that doesnt kill her. the refrain means on land and on sea the danger lurks everywhere, the creature must die. She feels the velocity, sweat drips on the knee. I think they are sort of making fun of how sick minded hunters are, but the metaphor relating to a rapist makes sense. |
