| well seeing as how this is a website to share your interpretation of the lyrics ill do so. I think that the original singer of KSE wrote this song about himself just before he left the band and was replaced by howard. "This is my last serenade" i think its just the singer saying goodbye to the fans and to the band and leaving with a "bang". just my opinion :) | |

Nice Try, alot of you had great ideas, however you did not hit the nail on the head. MJK's mother's name was Judith Marie. This song in fact is about her. She suffered from a paralyzing stroke. From the time she had the stroke, it took her approx. 27 years, or 10,000 days (hence the Tool song/album). After the stroke she became more in touch with her god even though he left her to suffer like that. "Fuck your god Your lord, your Christ He did this Took all you had and Left you this way Still you pray, never stray, never Taste of the fruit" Also, the songs on Tool's Album 10000 days "Wings for Marie", and "10000 Days (Wings pt. 2)" are about Maynards mother as well.
