This song is unmistakably referencing to prostitution. The beginning details how this prostitute is using drugs to make him/her all high "madman on the run" and then it's time for business as usual and put on that leather like that cheap dominatrix..."you can find me around the block...never far gone" cuz prostitutes hang around the corners of streets. Then Zero, referring to the prostitute is pretty self explanatory from then on....nobody's gonna know your name, just try to hit the spots (G-spots for man/woman), even in the dark, ect. Then Karen ask the prostitute..."what it the cure", meaning is this the cure for you drug habit....make money from sex and buy another round of coke?..Hope not/shellshock. Anything that can mix a story about prostitution into a dance remix gets my vote! |

I totally agree with surreal alchemy, and in fact Karen admitted in an article saying that she wanted to "crash" these "exclusive" A list parties she is tired of putting up with the phoniness. She's bending herself backwards to get acceptance in the LA indie music scene but feels so left out and excluded. She then decides to say hell with these ego maniacs and decides to steal the honey like the bears do. Like a bear, she's constantly scared and want to "runaway" from the bees but then she said "you want it", so the bear decides to get that honey anyways even if it stings. So she is putting her middle finger up to the indie rock scene who wouldn't give her the time of day and look where she's now! That is also when she dressed up like a bear costume....so cute, don't change Karen O! |
