| Christina Perri – A Thousand Years Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This song reminds of me of the book The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. It's about a women who tries to convince a man that she's a thousand years old, and that he was her lover in medieval Germany (Darlin' don't be afraid I have loved you for a Thousand years I'll love you for a Thousand more). And she carves all these gargoyles, and she says that she's giving them away, and her final heart goes to a carving of this man that she loves (And all along I believed I would find you Time has brought Your heart to me). Anyway, I don't think this is the actual meaning of the song, I just thought the similarities were striking and had to write it down! | |

When I first heard this song, I thought it was about a man (the person singing the song) falling in love with someone in a mental hospital. As I read the actual lyrics and all of your thoughts, I'm beginning to think that was kinda silly :) Throughout the song, I get the feeling that he's paying extra attention to this girl and that he wants everything to be perfect for her. That could just be because he loves her. Ha. "I don't walk right, not like I used to There's a jump in my step as I rush to see you" I'm glad to know that I'm not the only person that tears up a little with these lyrics. For some reason, the way they are sung make me want whatever he's singing about: love, want, whatever. I can feel that intense sort of feeling and it makes my heart ache. |
