IMO "I love that lavender blonde, The way she moves, the way she walks", This song is undoubtedly about her lesbian crush on a best friend, or someone close to her in the past. She touches herself at night because not only is the love not mutually reciprocated but it is a deep dark secret( "Through all the tears and all the lies." ) The singer is scared that the person she yearns for will not love her back or worse, disown her for her tabooed desires. Therefore, the only way she can deal with her accumulated hidden feelings is touching herself all through the night as she can not express her forbidden love to whomever she is talking about.
