I get it completely different.. I think you're pretty I think you know it You got a boyfriend You just forgot him that's all For five minutes that's all You're my best friend that's all I interpret this song as being two friends, a male and female, who've always been pretty close, but never really "had" anything, just friends. She has a boyfriend (who later on gets dumped). Suddenly the two main characters starts fooling around, but it's not important, 'cause it's not serious or anything, just good friends and then maybe they were in lust or something. No romantic feelings, no need to tell the boyfriend, as she "just forgot him", and they're best friends. (yes I skipped the second part, I think it's something about the boyfriend) Will you become what other people think of you? I hope you don't feel lonely when you're spending time with me your friend The guy is feeling like he owns the girl, although he doesn't say it out loud. She's having fun with her other friends, she's maybe acting a little different in comparison to her act around him, and he doesn't like the change. He's also doubting whether she's happier with him or her other friends, and he hopes she doesn't feel like he's "holding her down" or anything. See, the guy knows, that he's really important to her. And although he wants it that way (keep in mind, this is not at all on a romantic plan. Just as friends), he's also concerned about her feelings and if she maybe feels inadequit next to him or the other friends. But he misses her, just her presence. "We wait for each other, but we are not lovers"... Their mutual friends starts sensing something. They deny. She starts yelling at him sometimes for no apparent reason, and even though he won't stop talking to her, since they're so close, he don't know how to handle it. They keep getting in fights where he says something, she tells her he's wrong, and the she repeats the same thing. That kind off never-ending-discussions. I hope you're not too lonely when I'm spending time with my old friend She gets mad when he starts seeing other people, even though she's not in love with him. They're both jealous, but not in love with each other. Subtle indications dribble away which you don't care about Don't know.. maybe he tried starting something serious, but she didn't get it or ignored it, so nothing happened.
