thoooough, the more comments i read the consensus seems split.
if it IS about heroin, then it's right on. there is nothing in the world better than the needle. i 25 years old, 5 years clean, and rarely a day goes by that i don't think about it. |

all right, i absolutely get the affair.
i can't help but laugh at myself-- and feel a little shame too, naturally-- whenever it comes on the radio, because all i can think about is heroin. lmao, couldn't the man have made it a little less parallel to iv drug use? that said, i like the tune, and feel kind of trashy for this link in my head that won't go away.
use enough drugs, and you'll find a reference in anything, whether it's there or not. |

i like shoed0rk's explanation.
my ex-husband introduced me to the song about 7 years ago, when we were newlyweds, and his theory was that "strange" was slang for heroin. i never questioned it, but wanted to see what other people had to say, today. mind you, he was a hardcore heroin addict for many years, on and off, and tricked me into it as well... so it's no wonder that he would try and relate any song by a band who has used drugs, to his heroin habit... :D |

i have been pretty low, in the trainspotting way, but i've never lived in that kind of filth, and i just can't imagine anyone finding this glamourous. no disrespect. manic_ash. |
